Thermoforming


EGR’s Thermoforming facilities allow us to create a vast number of products for a range of different applications and industries. EGR can handle all thermoforming processes – Vacuum, Blow moulding and RIM. Our state of the art technology make us leaders in the market and combined with our quality programs and 35 years experience mean we deliver excellent product all the time.

Vacuum Forming
EGR has over 35 years of expertise in vacuum forming. Our clients include international automotive manufacturers whom we supply automotive parts to more than 40 markets around the world. Other industries supported include retail and environmental.
The manufacturing environment consists of:

  • 3 x high speed rotary machines
  • 3 x fully automated cut sheet in line machines
  • 2500 x 2000 x 1000mm forming area

Material choices available include:

  • ABS, PC / ABS. HDPE, PMMA, PC, PP
  • Typical thickness from 1.5 to 8mm thick

Tooling options include temperature controlled aluminium for high volume and composite tooling for lower volume.

  • Typical product volumes of 1,000 to 10,000 per annum
  • Automotive “A Class” capability
  • Capable of undercuts, sliding cores, pre-blow and plug assist forming

Blow Molding

 

The typical products that EGR blow moulds include:

  • Rear Deck Spoilers
  • Bumper Extenders
  • Running Boards

Key features include:

  • “A Class” and textured finishes available
  • ABS, High heat ABS, PC / PBT / ABS
  • Typical volume of 1000 parts per annum upwards
  • Moulded in inserts available
  • Up to 1800mm long
  • Up to 8 kg shot size

R-RIM

EGR’s world class R-RIM Moulding Division focuses on designing and manufacturing automotive parts such as front and rear bumpers, side rockers, spoilers, front and rear skirts, body cladding, interior trim.

R-Rim products offer the following benefits:

  • Tough reinforced polyurethane material
  • Low coefficient of thermal expansion and contraction
  • “A Class” finish
  • Variety of tooling options available subject to production volumes
  • In mould inserts available
  • Undercuts and internal apertures
  • Typical volume of 1000 per annum upwards
  • 0.5 to 10kg shot size
  • 3 x large area presses
  • 2000 x 2000 x 1500mm moulding area
